The blade is the "broken back" design.  Dug up at nearyly every viking trade site in northern Europe.  The blade is orignially Anglo-Saxon, but proved quite popular among the Norse.

The steel is fron an antique drag saw blade, around 100 years old.   It is true carbon steel of the finest quality.  It will rust if not kept clean, will discolor when exposed to acids from foods.  The blade is mirror finished.

The knife has a very robust whittle tang construction, as are all the originals.  The tang extends 3/4 of the length of the cherry wooden grip.

Epoxy resin mixed with sawdust was then used to secure the blade to reproduce the look of pine pitch cutler's cement.

Soldered brass guard and pommel plates.

Measures 11 5/8 inches total length, with the blade being 7 5/8"
