This Tall Viking Boot is based on the originals found at the Coppergate dig at York (10-11th centuries) and is fashioned with overlap closures and secured with four toggles for adjustment of any ankle and calf size.

The thick sole allows for a pair of boots that are hand stitched with proper period stitches and techniques, which are very durable and comfortable. This sole is also ideal for mounting a vibram sole for customers engaging in SCA or reenactment combat needing extra traction.

The leather used for making these boots is tanned using the centuries old oak tanning process using only natural barks instead of harsh chemicals used in modern tanning processes. This process provides a supple leather with a pebbled leather finish for a nice period look. This really brings out the natural beauty of the leather. Made with 4-5 ounce top grain cow hide, natural leather inner soles and a thick sole leather outer sole, all sewing is hand stitched and the toggles are fitted through a slit hole on the overlap closure.

Measuring 13 ½” from the heel to the top of the boot.

This version has been fitted with a reinforced heel that has become popular in our 2 and 3 Toggle versions to help with slouching heels and provide better support for those engaging in live combat.

** For those folks needing more support we recommend adding the rubber sole option to your boots. We also offer the lugged sole option on this type of boot as well if you would like to use these for live combat or need extra footing. We have tried to keep the cost down of these options just for this purpose**

If you choose to add rubber soles to your new boots, please allow an extra 2-3 weeks delivery time as this is a customization.
